Aims of the association

The aims of the Association are to:

  1. secure, by members contribution, a common fund to enable future progress (initially for administration, formation of a web site, and to promote meetings).
  2. promote education and public awareness (through journals and a web site) about antique locks and allied collecting.
  3. organise events for members to meet up for social occasions, including sales of locks and to exhibit their locks for other members to inspect; and generally for the inter-change of information.
  4. increase membership of the Association so that it becomes a focus for lock collectors.
  5. seek to obtain the provision of a Lock Museum in the United Kingdom and to promote that by reviewing available funding (including lottery money and local grants; and by pressing the appropriate authorities whenever practical to join in that common aim).
