The aims of the Association are to:
- secure, by members contribution, a common fund to enable future progress (initially for administration, formation of a web site, and to promote meetings).
- promote education and public awareness (through journals and a web site) about antique locks and allied collecting.
- organise events for members to meet up for social occasions, including sales of locks and to exhibit their locks for other members to inspect; and generally for the inter-change of information.
- increase membership of the Association so that it becomes a focus for lock collectors.
- seek to obtain the provision of a Lock Museum in the United Kingdom and to promote that by reviewing available funding (including lottery money and local grants; and by pressing the appropriate authorities whenever practical to join in that common aim).
